About The Position

Texas AirSystems is seeking experienced HVAC Field Technicians with the ability to travel to customer sites to start up, commission, troubleshoot, and repair equipment. This position requires the capability to work independently and candidates should have strong diagnostic skills. It also requires the ability to manage projects for start-up commissioning and coordination of personnel and services. This is a full-time opportunity for an energetic self-starter who is customer service oriented and works well with others. The position requires a high level of correspondence with Project Managers, Field Supervisors, Service Coordinators, and customers. This role focuses on supporting equipment sales to data centers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record
  • Current HVAC certification
  • OSHA 10 Training
  • 5+ years’ experience working as a Service Technician in a commercial environment
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software
  • Working proficiency with handheld computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad)
  • Electrical knowledge required
  • Ability to apply knowledge of refrigeration, air flow, and theory
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with diverse client groups
  • Driven with the ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Effectively communicate and properly describe problems and solutions
  • Demonstrated technical skills to explain product functionality to customers
  • Well-developed planning, organization, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Proficient computer skills, such as Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to produce clear, timely, and concise documentation
  • Well-developed problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel substantially within operational region
  • Willingness to work in adverse working conditions
  • Ability to work in diverse conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions, risk of electrical shock (high voltage), climbing/working at elevated heights, etc.

  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects and processes while working independently and with limited supervision
  • Coach and review the work of lower-level professionals
  • Take a perspective to provide solutions for difficult and complex opportunities
  • Start-up, commission, and support BMS on equipment
  • Perform factory start-up, commissioning, and warranty service on Data Center equipment and systems
  • Perform electrical and mechanical inspections on equipment to ensure peak performance
  • Interpret engineering drawings in reference to layout, location, and operation of the system(s)
  • Represent the company in a positive manner to other trades, contractors, and owners
  • Suggest additional services that are beneficial to the customer
  • Work in a team-based environment to share information and workload while ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Submit required paperwork to the Data Mission Critical Administrator in a timely manner
  • Work in a safe manner daily and ensure that all safety measures are always taken
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required
  • Perform PM tasks of the dedicated equipment on site
