Requirements
- Active TDLR HVAC Journeyman License (Texas)
- EPA 608 Universal Certification
- 5 or more years of commercial HVAC experience with significant exposure to heavy chiller systems
- Demonstrated experience with BAS/DDC controls platforms
- Strong electrical troubleshooting capability across both low and high voltage systems
- Comfortable working independently with limited oversight
- Valid Texas driver's license in good standing
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and confined spaces
Responsibilities
- Handle complex diagnostics, repairs, preventative maintenance, and system optimization across large commercial and industrial facilities
- Diagnose and repair large tonnage chillers — air-cooled and water-cooled — including centrifugal, screw, and scroll configurations
- Troubleshoot and program DDC/BAS building controls systems at an advanced level
- Commission and start up chiller and controls systems, optimizing for peak efficiency
- Identify and resolve electrical, mechanical, and controls-related issues
- Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on chillers, cooling towers, pumps, boilers, and supporting equipment
- Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and control schematics
- Keep accurate, timely documentation of all service work, repairs, and recommendations
- Communicate clearly with customers about system conditions, findings, and next steps
- Adhere to all safety requirements, EPA standards, and internal company policies
- Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices and junior technicians when applicable
