Riddleberger Brothers, Inc. is seeking to hire a talented and growth-minded individual to join our team as a Commercial HVAC Service Technician Level 4. The position involves servicing, maintaining, and repairing most commercial HVAC systems.

Requirements

  • VA Masters Card
  • 10 years’ experience in commercial trade
  • OSHA10 certification
  • Comply with all safety standards, policies, and procedures
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with employees and customers
  • Must be able to adjust focus for reading screens, monitors and controls and have color vision
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Flexibility to adjust to change, effectively work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • Demonstrate honesty and integrity at all times
  • Maintain a positive, cooperative, and teachable attitude
  • Ability to travel to job sites and occasionally have overnight stays
  • Ability to work 8-to-10-hour days, flexible schedule, and overtime when necessary

  • Valid driver’s license required and ability to meet company driver qualification policy preferred
  • Ability to pass a physical ability test

Responsibilities

  • Follow and adhere to all company safety requirements and processes.
  • Performs new system start-ups on almost all air conditioning and industrial refrigeration equipment.
  • Service, perform maintenance on, and repair water-cooled chillers, solid-state motor starters, electro-mechanical motor starters, air-cooled water chillers, electronic onboard controls incorporated in equipment, chilled and hot water piping and pumping systems equipped with variable speed drives, gas-fired and electric hot water-heating systems, electronic and computer-controlled digital temperature-control systems, and electronic variable speed drives.
  • Troubleshoot issues of the building envelope and factors affecting it.
  • Service advanced and specialized systems (VRF, Chiller, Boiler, Control System).
  • Perform general maintenance on chilled and hot water piping and pumping systems and associated equipment.
  • Start system, observe operation, read gauges and instruments, and adjust mechanisms such as valves, controls, and pumps to control level of fluid, pressure and temperature in system.
  • Replace or adjust defective or worn parts to repair systems.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning equipment accurately, bringing questionable situations with equipment or customers to the immediate supervisor’s attention.
  • Contact base after each call, keeping the dispatcher informed at all times as to the job status.
  • Check in at the end of the day and get next day job assignment before leaving for the day.
  • Change air filters.
  • Clean condenser and evaporator coils, fans, and ductwork.
  • Inspect, adjust, and replace fan belts on motors.
  • Lubricate bearings on fan shafts and motors.
  • Drill holes and install mounting brackets and hangers into floors and walls of buildings.
  • Lift, hoist, and align components into position.
  • Inspect screws, bolts, rivets, and welds; braze parts to assemble structural and functional components such as motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiring harnesses, valves, pumps compressors, condensers, cores, and pipes.
  • Install wiring to connect components to electrical power source.
  • Assist more senior service technicians as instructed by supervisor.
  • Submit labor hours worked & work description daily in Tech Tool.
  • Complete Daily Safety Report in XOI daily.
  • Complete work orders with work descriptions daily in Tech Tool.
  • Submit credit card receipts to Service Coordinator at time of purchase.
  • Communicate with customers daily.
  • Submit time and material quotes to office before leaving customers location.
  • Order parts with RBI purchase order for repairs before leaving customers location.
