About The Position

FlexStaff is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial HVAC projects for our client, a leading HVAC company in Nassau County. This role involves managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. The Project Manager will lead all aspects of project delivery, including engineering, contract execution, and final sign-off, while upholding high standards for quality, productivity, and efficiency. Responsibilities include interpreting project plans, maintaining documentation, generating reports, and recommending operational improvements. The role also requires procurement of equipment and materials, cost analysis, budget management, defining labor needs, developing schedules, and coordinating personnel. Regular travel to construction project sites is necessary to oversee project delivery and coordinate field activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience in project management in the HVAC industry.
  • Comprehensive project management, including all aspects of process development and execution, strategic planning, and risk management.
  • Interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Contract negotiation and change order management.
  • Ensuring compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
  • Quality control methodologies including Six Sigma DMAIC methodology to eliminate work defects.
  • Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • AutoCAD.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving abilities in project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee commercial HVAC projects from planning to completion, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Lead all phases of project delivery, including engineering, contract execution, and final sign-off, maintaining standards for quality, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Interpret and communicate project plans and specifications to staff and clients.
  • Review job specifications, maintain project documentation, and generate production reports to guide construction methods and ensure sustainability.
  • Recommend and implement improvements in operations, equipment use, and workflow.
  • Procure equipment and materials, prepare cost analyses, and manage budgets.
  • Define labor needs, develop schedules, and coordinate personnel in line with project requirements.
  • Monitor progress on all active jobs and update clients on milestones and budgets.
  • Develop and implement quality control programs, process improvements, and technical upgrades per engineering specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Daily travel to construction project sites required as needed to oversee project delivery and coordinate field activities.
