About The Position

State Mechanical Services is hiring an experienced HVAC Project Manager to lead commercial mechanical construction projects across the Chicagoland market. We are a growing commercial mechanical contractor specializing in design-build and design-assist HVAC construction. Requirements

• 3–7 years of commercial HVAC or mechanical construction project management experience
• Proven ability to manage budgets and construction schedules
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, drawings, and contracts
• Experience forecasting costs and protecting project margin
• Proficiency in Procore or comparable PM systems
• Ability to manage multiple HVAC construction projects simultaneously

Nice To Haves

• Union mechanical construction experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage HVAC and mechanical construction projects from award through closeout
• Protect gross margin through cost control and disciplined forecasting
• Maintain accurate cost-to-complete projections
• Enforce contractual scope and structured change management
• Coordinate field supervision, subcontractors, and vendors
• Lead owner/architect/contractor (OAC) meetings
• Ensure documentation accuracy within Procore
• Reinforce jobsite safety compliance
