About The Position

S&S Mechanical is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Installation Manager to lead our Commercial Construction Division in St. George, Utah. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing commercial HVAC installation operations, managing field and installation teams, driving profitability, maintaining safety and quality standards, and ensuring successful project execution from pre-construction through completion. We are looking for a strong leader with experience in commercial construction management, HVAC operations, project oversight, budgeting, forecasting, and team development.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in commercial HVAC or mechanical construction leadership preferred
• Proven experience in: Commercial HVAC installation management, Construction operations management, Mechanical construction leadership
• Strong leadership and team development skills
• Experience managing: Budgets, Forecasting, Labor planning, Profitability metrics
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems and construction processes
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage relationships with contractors, vendors, and internal teams
• Commitment to quality workmanship, safety, and operational excellence
• Requires a valid driver’s license.
• Requires a high school diploma and/or equivalent.
• A working knowledge of basic carpentry, gas piping, electricity and air flow are required.
• Must possess a working knowledge of local codes and general industry standards.
• Strong supervisory, communications, computer and mathematical skills are required.
• Minimum of 5+ years previous HVAC experience as Install Manager.

Nice To Haves

• Experience managing large-scale commercial HVAC projects
• Experience leading multi-crew installation teams
• Knowledge of mechanical codes, project scheduling, and construction software
• Experience with ServiceTitan or similar field service management software is a plus
• Prior experience in HVAC service or commercial construction leadership roles
• OSHA 30, EPA Certification, or HVAC industry certifications are a plus

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Commercial Construction Division
• Ensure commercial HVAC projects are completed safely, efficiently, and within budget
• Coordinate with sales, estimating, and installation teams to ensure project scope alignment
• Review project forecasts, labor budgets, revenue goals, and financial performance metrics
• Manage estimate-to-actual cost tracking and profitability goals
• Ensure proper execution of change orders and scope modifications
• Participate in weekly operational and construction meetings
• Lead, mentor, and develop field supervisors, foremen, and installation teams
• Conduct weekly 1:1 meetings with site leads and division personnel
• Develop and execute quarterly departmental objectives
• Support recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and employee development
• Oversee employee performance reviews, coaching, and disciplinary actions when necessary
• Promote teamwork, accountability, and professional communication across departments
• Enforce company quality standards and installation procedures
• Maintain OSHA safety compliance and promote a strong safety culture
• Ensure proper tools, equipment, and jobsite readiness
• Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, vendors, and trade partners
• Support pre-construction meetings and project coordination efforts
• Promote professionalism and exceptional customer service standards
