About The Position

Gator is seeking motivated, hands-on individuals to join their Commercial Garage Door Technician team. This role is ideal for individuals with mechanical aptitude, such as carpenters, welders, roofers, or general laborers, who are looking for a career change. The company provides paid training, so no prior experience is necessary. The position involves installing, servicing, and repairing commercial and industrial garage doors, ensuring work meets safety and industry standards, and delivering outstanding customer service.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand/power tools
• Ability to lift 75+ lbs and work at heights
• Understanding of OSHA safety guidelines
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Positive, professional attitude and a problem-solving mindset

Nice To Haves

• Industrial construction or blueprint reading experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and repair commercial and industrial garage doors
• Perform quality inspections and ensure all work meets safety and industry standards
• Read blueprints, operate power tools, and work from ladders or lifts
• Keep accurate documentation with notes, diagrams, and photos
• Communicate with customers and team members to deliver outstanding service
• Recommend additional services or products as appropriate
• Prioritize safety—for yourself, your team, and the client
• Continue learning and developing your skills on the job
