About The Position

Waste Connections of Houston is seeking a safety-conscious CDL Route Driver to join its team in Houston, Texas. The driver safely operates a commercial CDL truck to deliver dumpster containers to customers and provide high-quality service. The role serves residential, construction, and commercial environments, and involves physical work around heavy diesel equipment in varying weather and work conditions. Drivers work year-round and may encounter rain, snow, heat, cold, dirty environments, moving mechanical parts, fumes, vibration, and moderate noise. The position includes a $3,000 stay-on bonus.

Requirements

At least 21 years of age.
Satisfactory driving record.
Class A or Class B CDL.
Ability to work Monday through any day of the week, with starts as early as midnight.
Ability to perform strenuous physical work, including consistent walking and lifting, pushing, or pulling objects over 75 pounds.
Ability to exit and enter a high-set truck.

Responsibilities

Safely drive a commercial CDL truck in residential, construction, commercial, and other environments.
Select a convenient dumpster drop-off location while avoiding property damage.
Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift and load dumpsters onto and off the truck.
Secure dumpster loads, cover them appropriately, and account for weight shifts before departing.
Read route sheets and service each customer listed or assigned by the dispatcher.
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
Interact courteously with customers.
Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
