About The Position

Waste Connections is hiring a driver to collect and load waste and transport it to a landfill and/or transfer station. This is a physically demanding role that offers competitive pay and the opportunity for a long-term career. The position involves following assigned routes, inspecting the vehicle, interacting courteously with customers, and performing other assigned job-related duties. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays as needed and frequent overtime. The role starts at 2 a.m. and requires the ability to work 50–55 hours per week. There are no Sunday shifts.

Requirements

Valid Class A or B CDL with air brake endorsement.
Clean driving record.
Working knowledge of D.O.T. laws.
Ability to work 50–55 hours per week.
Schedule flexibility for Monday–Friday work starting at 2 a.m., with occasional Saturdays; no Sundays.
Willingness to submit to and pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend reports to complete daily assignments.
Ability to work in varied environments and withstand exposure to all kinds of weather, including rain, heat, sun, and cold.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move and maneuver up to 100 pounds.
Ability to mount and dismount the truck multiple times each day while on route.
Ability to perform strenuous physical work, including heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling objects over 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Read route tablets or sheets and service each customer listed or assigned by the dispatcher.
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip DOT vehicle inspections, including checking fluids, safety equipment, lights, and tire pressure.
Load and unload waste, sometimes without helpers.
Interact courteously with customers.
Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
