About The Position

The Director, Commercial Finance will serve as the finance partner to the Global Commercial Leader for the Genetic Sciences Division. This role will provide strategic financial leadership across the global commercial organization, partnering closely with sales, regional, business unit, and functional leaders to drive growth, improve commercial execution, and optimize Go-To-Market strategy. This is a highly visible leadership role requiring strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and the ability to translate business and financial data into actionable insights. The Director will lead a global commercial finance team and play a critical role in shaping priorities, driving performance, supporting key initiatives, embracing technology, and enabling the sales organization to deliver strong business outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field required
  • Progressive finance leadership experience supporting commercial, sales, regional, or business unit organizations in a complex global environment.
  • Proven ability to partner with senior commercial leaders, influence decisions, and translate data into clear business actions.
  • Experience leading and developing global finance teams.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to connect sales activity, Go-To-Market strategy, commercial execution, and financial outcomes.
  • Digital mindset with a willingness to embrace technology, analytics, and process improvement to increase the speed, quality, and impact of finance partnership.
  • Strategic and commercially minded finance leader with strong financial discipline, enterprise thinking, sound judgment, and a bias for action.
  • Collaborative leader who can challenge assumptions, lead through ambiguity, build credibility across functions and regions, and raise the impact of the finance organization.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary finance partner to the Global Commercial Leader and global commercial leadership team.
  • Provide financial insight, strategic guidance, and decision support across revenue growth, Go-To-Market strategy, and investment prioritization.
  • Partner with sales leadership to optimize commercial outcomes, identify growth opportunities, improve productivity, and drive accountability for financial commitments.
  • Translate commercial and financial data into clear, actionable insights that help leadership make informed decisions.
  • Act as a proactive advisor and constructive challenger to ensure disciplined execution, effective resource allocation, and sustainable growth.
  • Lead financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and performance management for the global commercial organization.
  • Develop executive-ready analysis and recommendations that connect commercial activity and Go-To-Market choices to financial results.
  • Lead and support key commercial finance initiatives across the Genetic Sciences Division, including growth programs, Go-To-Market optimization, and resource allocation decisions.
  • Embrace technology, analytics, and automation to improve business insights, simplify processes, enhance decision-making, and strengthen the impact of commercial finance.
  • Partner across sales, business units, regions, operations, marketing, FP&A, and controllership to align commercial plans with business strategy and financial goals.
  • Lead, develop, and inspire a global commercial finance team.
  • Set clear priorities, build organizational capability, and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, business partnership, and continuous improvement.
  • Coach team members to deliver high-impact analysis, strengthen commercial finance capabilities, and operate as trusted partners to the sales organization.
