About The Position

The Commercial Fabrication Supervisor oversees daily fabrication operations, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and employee development. This position supervises Fabricators and Youth Apprentices, coordinates workload and scheduling, and serves as a hands-on leader committed to continuous improvement and the overall success of the Commercial Division.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, work orders, and technical specifications
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and fabrication equipment safely and effectively
  • Ability to perform shop math and accurately read a tape measure
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, customers, and internal departments
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or carry up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, push, pull, and perform physical work throughout the workday
  • Ability to work in a shop and warehouse environment

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Three or more years of fabrication experience in a commercial construction, glazing, door, or related manufacturing environment preferred
  • Previous leadership, lead, or supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience reading blueprints, shop drawings, and construction specifications preferred
  • Welding and metal fabrication experience preferred
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, mentor, and supervise Fabricators and Youth Apprentices while promoting a positive, team-oriented work environment
  • Approve and manage employee timecards, Paycor requests, performance reviews, and policy compliance
  • Promote and enforce safe work practices, PPE requirements, and company safety policies
  • Plan, prioritize, delegate, and coordinate fabrication workloads to meet production schedules and project deadlines
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Installation teams, and other departments to ensure efficient project execution and communication
  • Ensure all fabricated products meet quality standards, specifications, shop drawings, and customer requirements prior to delivery or installation
  • Fabricate, assemble, modify, and install commercial aluminum, steel, glass, doors, frames, hardware, and related products according to work orders and drawings
  • Operate fabrication equipment, power tools, welding equipment, forklifts, and other shop machinery in a safe and efficient manner
  • Perform preventative maintenance on shop equipment and maintain a clean, organized work environment
  • Manage inventory levels, assist with material ordering, conduct year-end inventory counts, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Perform other duties as assigned
