About The Position

Eaton’s GEIS (Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions) division is currently seeking a Commercial ETO Supervisor to join the team. This is a hybrid role and can be based at the Highland, IL or Syracuse NY locations. The expected annual salary range for this role is $97000 - $143000 a year. The Commercial ETO Supervisor will lead the custom solutions engineering team, providing strategic direction, coaching, and development for direct reports while fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture. This position will oversee project execution and resource alignment to ensure timely delivery, quality standards, and customer satisfaction. This role is responsible for establishing performance metrics, driving accountability, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives using lean principles. Additionally, this role will represent the organization in cross-functional and industry settings, while cultivating talent and promoting a culture of learning, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 5 years of product design or project management experience
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience (can include projects or as a leader of people)
  • Only candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of Syracuse, NY or Highland, IL will be considered. Active-duty military members are exempt from this geographical limitation.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution
  • Experience in the electrical industry (including cable management and mechanical support)
  • Experienced with FEA analysis
  • Familiarity with designing for manufacturability in a product customization environment, including an understanding of materials and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the custom solutions engineering department and the position’s direct reports.
  • Develop team members, foster a learning culture, establish an environment for open sharing and improvement.
  • Lead and participate in engineering projects and proposals for customers from receipt of purchase order through timely completion of project documentation.
  • Manage projects requiring PE stamps (manage 3rd party structural engineers and interface with customers to manage project questions and required data/drawings).
  • Create and maintain project tracking tools, help set metrics and goals, ensure timely completion.
  • Perform engineering calculations and design application evaluations per industry codes and standards.
  • Review designs, ensure compliance to standards and coordinate PE stamps as appropriate for engineering projects.
  • Implement lean principles to improve processes and eliminate waste.
  • Participate in, gather, and analyze VOC input and feedback to ensure services and products are meeting customer expectations.
  • Support the Sales and Marketing teams with technical presentations and trainings to internal & external customers.
  • Represent Eaton’s Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions (GEIS) Business on industry standards and code technical committees.
