About The Position

As a key member of our Preconstruction team, the Commercial Estimator plays a critical role in shaping the success of our projects. You’ll be responsible for developing accurate, competitive cost estimates across a variety of commercial construction jobs, working closely with teams throughout the company to produce high-quality proposals. This role directly supports Mid-States' commitment to profitability, efficiency, and exceptional client service - making your work essential to our mission of delivering excellence in every build.

Requirements

3-5 years of experience working in the construction space (estimating, sales, engineering, design, project management, or field)
Excellent understanding of construction processes (architectural drawings, details, and constructability).
Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)
Proficient in Blueprint reading

Responsibilities

Develop detailed sales estimates and proposals in coordination with the Regional Sales Representative, as well as architects, engineers, and contractors involved in the bidding process.
Partner with Purchasing and IT teams to maintain and enhance pricing tools, identifying opportunities to improve accuracy and protect project margins.
Develop and maintain customer relationships by providing ongoing touches through events, office visits, phone calls, meetings, and other digital interactions.
Work closely with sales and project management to ensure alignment between the estimate, customer expectations, and project delivery capabilities.
Contribute to value engineering efforts, identifying cost-saving options and alternative design solutions without compromising quality or schedule.
