About The Position

The Electrical Service Technician is responsible for onsite troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing electrical issues at customer facilities. Our client base is 100% retail. Customers include Walmart, Target, Lowe’s, Aldi, Tractor Supply, Starbucks, Panera, etc. The technician will be given a van, company fuel card, credit card, phone and iPad. All work orders are dispatched electronically via the phone/iPad the afternoon before. The tech is expected to quickly view those work orders, so they are aware of their next day’s schedule. The service tech will report via phone to their manager here in Albany. The service manager is always available to assist the tech with any all questions and concerns. The vehicle is permitted for work use ONLY unless cleared by T&J Service Manager ahead of time. All vehicles are GPS monitored not only for locating, but for monitoring safe driving habits. The Service Tech is expected to take their vehicle home each night.

Requirements

  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Candidates must be willing to drive up to 2 hours (one way) for service calls
  • Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills as your supervisor will be remote, in our main office
  • Ability to work independently and with others
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Prolonged periods sitting and driving
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Candidates must pass a drug test and background check prior to starting work

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a similar role is preferred
  • Knowledge of the Facility Services industry is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Consist mainly of lighting services, replacing lamps, ballasts, drivers, troubleshooting lighting control systems, and emergency lighting.
  • General electrical troubleshooting as well as small new circuitry installations.
  • Tech must be properly dressed and mannered to be customer facing.
  • View work orders electronically via the phone/iPad the afternoon before to be aware of the next day’s schedule.
  • Report via phone to their manager in Albany.
  • Take their vehicle home each night.
