About The Position

An established and growing commercial electrical contractor in Central Florida is seeking an experienced Commercial Electrical Project Manager to take ownership of projects from estimator turnover through final completion. This is a hands-on Project Manager position for someone who understands that successful electrical project management requires more than paperwork. You’ll regularly visit active jobsites, work directly with Superintendents and Foremen, stay ahead of manpower and material needs, and solve problems before they impact the schedule or budget. The company works across healthcare, education, institutional, commercial, and industrial projects, with typical project durations ranging from approximately 8 months to 2 years.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of proven Project Management experience in commercial electrical construction.
  • Strong electrical construction knowledge.
  • Experience with submittments, RFIs, change orders, scheduling, procurement, and project documentation.
  • Procore experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of commercial electrical projects from turnover through closeout.
  • Participate in project turnover and strategy meetings with estimating and field leadership.
  • Develop buyout packages and make purchasing recommendations.
  • Work closely with Superintendents, Foremen, and field crews.
  • Maintain a strong presence on active jobsites and visit projects regularly.
  • Manage multiple commercial projects at different stages.
  • Maintain project schedules and proactively plan manpower requirements.
  • Manage submittments, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate lighting controls, equipment, and other electrical scopes requiring advance planning.
  • Monitor project budgets, costs, manpower hours, WIP, and overall financial performance.
  • Manage project billing and financial responsibilities.
  • Lead project meetings and communicate with GCs, owners, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Stay current with electrical codes and identify when changes affect project execution.
  • Develop alternate solutions when issues arise and keep projects moving forward.
