About The Position

RQ Construction is building a pool of qualified Commercial Drywall and Framing Mechanics for upcoming project opportunities at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, NC, and the surrounding area. This is an ongoing effort to identify skilled tradespeople for future assignments as work becomes available. Ideal candidates bring hands-on experience in carpentry, metal stud framing, and drywall installation. All work is performed on base and compensated at the applicable Davis-Bacon prevailing wage rate for the location. All work is to be performed on the military base and is paid the required Davis-Bacon prevailing wage, specific to the base. In this hands-on role, you'll play a key part in our construction efforts by performing a variety of physical and skilled carpentry tasks. Using a range of hand and power tools, you'll help build and shape quality spaces while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient worksite.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED.
• Five or more years of experience with carpentry (can be a combination of rough, finish carpentry).
• Two or more years (or equivalent) field or trade work experience in commercial construction.
• Experience with framing and installing steel metal frames.

Nice To Haves

• Government, military, or large commercial construction experience.
• ACT (Acoustical Ceiling Tile) experience.
• CPR and First Aid Certifications.
• Forklift/Manlift training and certificate.
• Trenching and shoring training.
• Fall protection training.
• Confined space training.
• Lockout/Tagout training.
• Scissor lift/boom lift certificate.
• EM-385 40-hour OSHA.
• 10-hour OSHA.
• 30-hour OSHA.
