About The Position

This role is a commercial support function specializing in product categories with a concentration on hose. The Commercial Support Specialist (Hose Products) will be responsible for providing effective customer service for all internal and external customers, which includes all VSP departments, by specializing in sourcing, costing, and quoting relevant products.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years of full-time employment minimum in a customer service or production environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with industrial hose
  • 2- or 4-year college degree in business, engineering technology, or related field
  • Customer service experience in manufacturing or Industrial business

Responsibilities

  • Specialize in sourcing and quoting within a product category, primarily hose.
  • Interpret customer requests to quote appropriate hose products (with oversight from Engineering or related resources).
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of VSP Technologies, including but not limited to product offerings, MAS500, SalesForce, and other internal VSP programs.
  • Communicate details, including pricing, lead times, and order status, to customers.
  • Communicate with suppliers to ensure that product is received on time and with the appropriate documentation.
  • Ensure all documentation is maintained to comply with relevant quality processes and procedures. Examples include MTRs, non-destructive examination reports, certificates of compliance, test certificates, assembly sheets, tagging specifications, and other related documents.
  • Work with the Program Development Manager to communicate customer feedback to various teams to Improve the overall customer experience.
  • Communicate with Outside Sales, Engineering and other support personnel to obtain product recommendations.
  • Support the product line with quote entry, order entry, document creation/databasing, filing, scanning, order dispute reconciliation and switchboard assistance.
  • Follow all relevant processes and procedures to ensure the highest level of quality for our customers.
