This role is responsible for applying the bank's credit culture and policies, using independent judgment and critical thinking to analyze key financial data for loan requests. The analyst will compile information for accurate representation of credit risk, including global cash flow, collateral, industry, and management analysis, as well as overall repayment capacity. The position involves completing underwriting in accordance with regulations, compliance terms, bank policy, and legal requirements. The analyst will accept credit requests directly from borrowers, make initial decisions on proceeding with requests, and recommend appropriate risk grades with supporting rationale. This role is considered a valuable resource for credit write-ups and tax return analysis, and proactively assists Commercial Lenders in portfolio management functions such as annual reviews, loan review preparation, and regulatory examinations. The analyst will spread financial statements, analyze historical performance, review proformas, and develop appropriate loan covenants and structures. There is an opportunity to assist in training junior analysts and potentially manage a small group. Responsibilities also include reviewing appraisals, understanding loan documents, assisting with loan closings, and communicating with customers. The analyst will obtain and analyze third-party borrower information, maintain data integrity, prepare reports, track financial information, and work with Commercial Lenders on classified assets. Adherence to the Bank's compliance requirements and risk management concepts is essential, along with delivering a high level of service.
