About The Position

This role involves performing complex credit analysis and underwriting for commercial credit requests. The Commercial Credit Analyst II will work closely with Commercial Relationship Managers to gather necessary documentation, assess customer financial conditions, and make informed underwriting decisions. The position requires a strong understanding of credit policies, compliance, and loan operations, as well as the ability to stress-test credit facilities, evaluate collateral, and perform industry analysis. The analyst will also be responsible for reviewing loan write-ups, ensuring documentation completeness and enforceability, and preparing annual reviews and portfolio assessments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business or related field or a combination of education and experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfactorily perform the essential job functions.
  • Two to five years’ related work experience required in a professional business environment.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills including educating and/or advising others.
  • Highly detailed and accurate and on multiple, concurrent tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with the Commercial Relationship Manager’s to obtain necessary documents to fully underwrite and document credit requests.
  • Review customer financial condition and assess the customer's ability to re-pay the loan.
  • Make underwriting decisions and perform complex credit analysis while completing the memo.
  • Occasionally attend joint calls with the commercial relationship manager and his/her customer to gather more information about the customers.
  • Review lender assigned risk grades on all commercial related loans.
  • Confirm or change the grade and issue a report of the findings for the lender and management.
  • Review complex loan write-ups for completion and proper execution to ensure adequate enforceability of company's position for new and existing loans reviewed.
  • Stress-test credit facilities, pull personal credit reports, evaluate collateral and perform industry analysis as needed.
  • Determine that loan file documentation is complete and properly executed to ensure adequate enforceability of the company's position for all new loans reviewed and closes loans.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve internal and external inquiries.
  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  • Assist with special projects assigned by the Director of Commercial Credit.
  • Make recommendations on structure of credit facilities to best meet client needs and bank risk profile.
  • Review strategy (acquisition, divestiture of assets, etc.); economic trends, commodities, volume trends, etc.
  • Prepare annual reviews and recommend changes to risk rating if deemed necessary.
  • Provide recommendation for appropriate financing solution and structure.
  • Conduct and participate in annual portfolio reviews to help assess the quality and status of loan portfolio.
  • Provide input and data on loans approved, past due trends, status of annual reviews of households, and other credit administration issues.
  • Perform other credit duties and special tasks requested by the Director of Commercial Credit.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
