About The Position

Fivetran is seeking a Commercial Counsel to support its global sales organization and scale its commercial contracting function. This role will report to the commercial legal leadership team and partner with Sales, Finance, Security, and Revenue Operations to ensure efficient deal execution and risk management. The position involves drafting, reviewing, and negotiating customer agreements (MSAs, order forms, data agreements) and advising on SaaS-related legal matters like data privacy, security, intellectual property, and liability. The Commercial Counsel will translate legal considerations into practical guidance for business stakeholders and contribute to developing scalable contracting infrastructure (templates, playbooks, negotiation frameworks). This role also supports cross-functional initiatives related to product, pricing, and go-to-market strategy. The ideal candidate possesses strong experience in negotiating SaaS/technology agreements, sound commercial judgment, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, balancing legal risk with business objectives and contributing to scalable systems.

Responsibilities

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating customer-facing agreements, including MSAs, order forms, and data-related agreements.

• Contributing to the development of scalable contracting infrastructure, including templates, playbooks, and negotiation frameworks.
