About The Position

The Project Manager serves as the central point of communication for project information across departments and with Mid-States’ customers. This role is responsible for managing all processes related to assigned projects, ensuring alignment with company goals. The Project Manager plays a critical role in exceeding customer expectations, controlling costs, and upholding the highest standards of safety. Their leadership is essential to the successful execution of project schedules, the accurate manufacturing of products, and the delivery of an exceptional customer experience.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or related field
  • Excellent understanding of construction processes (architectural drawings, details, and constructability)
  • Previous experience successfully collaborating with a diverse team of professionals
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Experience with Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)

Nice To Haves

  • PMP Certification, preferred
  • Knowledge of the precast concrete industry, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary point of contact for client from project award through closeout
  • Ensure that change orders are authorized and approved by the client prior to the commencement of work when feasible; follow up on change orders ensuring customer approval and payment for changes completed.
  • Obtain customer approval on assigned projects of all shop drawings/packets and sample review
  • Collaborate with Director of Project Management to understand production schedules; communicate drawing updates, schedule benchmarks, and schedule changes to the customer
  • Prepare and finalize all project closeout documents
  • Develop engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval
  • Maintain professional, cooperative relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects, and customers.
  • Review take offs and develop a thorough understanding of project specifications, schedules, and special project requirements.
  • Provide final check of designed elements to ensure compliance with contract documents, project specifications, and engineering, production, and installation standards
  • Schedule and conduct a kickoff meeting (or telephone call) with the client to establish themselves as the “point person” for the project. Ensure that the customer understands the installation access plan.
  • Coordinate with Field Operations Manager and Field Coordinator for shipping sequences and load counts.
  • Facilitate communication between Engineering, Drafting, Production, and Installation teams to assure to ensure ticket release, manufacturing, and installation timelines are met
  • Manage turnover meetings, which includes conducting initial architectural and structural drawing review with the assigned Project Team
  • Communicate with Design Team to ensure shop drawings/packets are completed and released to production as scheduled
  • Collaborate with all departments to ensure scheduled dates are obtained. Update LOIS notes and waterfall reports to maintain transparency.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing Department the ensure materials are ordered with enough lead time to meet schedule
  • Maintain outstanding relationships with outsourced design and engineering teams to maintain project flow and communication expectations
  • Coordinate that punch list items and quality issues are addressed and managed promptly and effectively.
