About The Position

A well-established construction firm is seeking a Construction Project Manager to oversee commercial, institutional, and government-related construction projects from project kickoff through final closeout. This role is ideal for a construction professional with experience managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, client communication, and field coordination in a fast-paced environment. Projects may involve renovations, site improvements, IDIQ contracts, lump-sum projects, and fast-track construction delivery methods. The selected candidate will manage the complete lifecycle of assigned construction projects, including estimating, procurement, scheduling, contract administration, financial oversight, and project closeout activities. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical construction knowledge, and the ability to coordinate multiple project stakeholders while maintaining safety, quality, and schedule expectations. Most projects are executed through subcontractors, although experience managing self-performed work is also valuable.

Requirements

  • Experience managing subcontracted and self-performed construction work
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction methods and project workflows
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Experience with project scheduling, budgeting, estimating, and cost controls
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, email, and construction management software
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving history

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • 4–7 years of experience with a commercial or industrial general contractor preferred
  • OR 10+ years of directly related construction management experience without a degree
  • Experience supporting government construction projects preferred
  • Familiarity with IDIQ and fast-track project delivery methods
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred
  • First Aid and CPR certifications preferred
  • Current USACE/NAVFAC CQC certification is a plus
  • Professional certifications such as AC, CPC, or PE are highly valued

Responsibilities

  • Lead construction projects through planning, execution, and closeout
  • Prepare estimates, proposals, budgets, and change order pricing
  • Manage subcontractor buyout, procurement activities, and contract negotiations
  • Coordinate project schedules using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
  • Monitor project progress and identify schedule impacts affecting milestone completion
  • Conduct regular jobsite visits to oversee safety, quality, and project progress
  • Collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams
  • Manage permitting requirements and regulatory compliance when needed
  • Lead project meetings and maintain project reporting documentation
  • Track project financial performance and manage monthly billing activities
  • Support quality control, environmental, and safety compliance initiatives
  • Develop look-ahead schedules in coordination with field supervision teams
  • Ensure all work complies with contractual obligations and applicable regulations
  • Identify project risks proactively and implement practical solutions
  • Participate in professional development and industry networking opportunities
