About The Position

Comfort Technologies is seeking an experienced Construction Ductwork Foreman to lead commercial ductwork installation crews throughout the DFW Metroplex. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong sheet metal installation experience who can read blueprints, coordinate field activities, and deliver quality work safely and on schedule. This is a full-time position offering steady work, overtime opportunities, and the chance to lead a crew on commercial construction projects.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of commercial ductwork or sheet metal installation experience
  • Previous experience as a foreman, lead installer or crew leader
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and specifications
  • Strong knowledge of commercial ductwork layout and installation practices
  • Ability to organize manpower, materials and daily jobsite activities
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience safely using installation tools, ladders and aerial lifts
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading crews on commercial new construction and renovation projects
  • Familiarity with SMACNA standards and applicable mechanical codes
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • Sheet metal apprenticeship or journey-level credentials
  • Experience coordinating fabrication, material takeoffs and field measurements
  • Experience training apprentices and developing installation crews

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise crews installing commercial ductwork and sheet metal systems.
  • Plan daily work assignments, coordinate manpower and monitor installation progress.
  • Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, specifications and approved drawings.
  • Lay out and install rectangular, round and spiral ductwork, fittings and transitions.
  • Oversee installation of hangers, supports, dampers, grilles, registers and diffusers.
  • Verify measurements, elevations, routing and clearances before installation.
  • Coordinate field measurements, material orders and fabrication requirements.
  • Work closely with project managers, general contractors and other trades to resolve installation conflicts.
  • Monitor workmanship and ensure installations meet project specifications.
  • Identify scope changes, material shortages and scheduling concerns promptly.
  • Train and mentor installers, helpers and apprentices.
  • Complete daily reports, time records and project progress documentation.
  • Support inspections, punch-list completion and project closeout.
  • Enforce company safety procedures and maintain clean, organized jobsites.
