About The Position

Magma Core Solutions (MCS) is seeking a Commercial Construction Foreman to build indoor play oases for Lava Island. This role involves hands-on labor from the initial demolition of a leased space to the final build-out of a park ready for opening. The Foreman will work alongside a Superintendent, performing tasks such as drywall, patching, painting, tile and flooring installation, light framing, trim work, and fixture installation. The position also includes preparing areas for specialty subcontractors, coordinating with the APS team for attraction installations, and ensuring the site runs smoothly. The Foreman acts as the eyes and ears on the ground, protecting completed work, maintaining site cleanliness, and addressing punch list items. Safety practices are paramount, and the Foreman is expected to model and uphold them. This is a hands-on role for individuals who enjoy being on their feet, using their hands, and working across various trades.

Requirements

Multi-trade construction experience.
Comfort and capability across drywall, paint, tile, flooring, light framing, trim, and general finish work.
Prior foreman, lead carpenter, or strong journeyman experience.
Ability to work independently on-site while maintaining close contact with the Superintendent and MCS team via phone.
Sound judgment regarding what issues to escalate and when.
Willingness to obtain OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
Equipment certifications (scissor lift, forklift), or willingness to obtain them.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Must pass a background check.
Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and move for extended periods on an active construction site.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

Tenant improvement (TI) experience in retail or interior build-out.
Bilingual (Spanish/English).

Responsibilities

Perform hands-on labor including drywall, patching, paint, tile and flooring, light framing, trim, and general finish work.
Handle demolition of existing spaces to prepare for build-out.
Prepare areas for specialty subcontractors (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, tile, flooring).
Coordinate on-site with the APS team during playground and trampoline attraction installations.
Monitor work to ensure it meets specifications and identify any shortcuts taken by trades.
Cover the site when the Superintendent is off-site.
Protect completed work and maintain site cleanliness.
Address and complete punch list items.
Model and enforce safe work practices among trades.
