Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3–5 years of experience operating processing or heavy equipment in a manufacturing, agricultural, or industrial environment.
  • Ability to safely operate processing and material handling equipment.
  • Intermediate proficiency with general computer applications.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and food safety requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and workplace safety.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Forklift certification required or the ability to obtain certification upon hire.
  • Yard Hostler certification required or the ability to obtain certification upon hire.
  • Top Pick Handler certification required or the ability to obtain certification upon hire.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to meet company driving standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating front loaders, yard hostlers, top-pick handlers, or other rolling stock equipment.
  • Previous experience in grain handling, seed processing, commodity operations, or food manufacturing.
  • Experience performing material transfers and inventory movements in a production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Transfer seed and meal between trailers, containers, and storage buildings to support production operations.
  • Load seed and meal into outbound trailers according to shipping requirements.
  • Collect product samples from trailers and containers for Quality Control (QC) testing.
  • Follow Commodity Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure safe and accurate processing.
  • Perform meal blending according to customer specifications and production requirements.
  • Operate a front loader to measure and load seed and meal into designated trailers, containers, and storage buildings.
  • Operate a container top pick to move shipping containers onto and off required chassis.
  • Move trailers and containers throughout the facility using a yard hostler truck.
  • Complete daily cleaning and housekeeping of seed bins and surrounding work areas in partnership with Crush Operators.
  • Operate rolling stock equipment, including forklifts, front loaders, yard hostlers, and top-pick handlers, after completing required training and certification.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while adhering to food safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Properly use and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Report all accidents, incidents, and near misses to the Superintendent of Operations and Plant Manager.
  • Participate in internal and external audits and maintain audit-ready work areas.
  • Follow all company safety policies, attend required safety meetings and tailgate discussions, and complete assigned safety training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
