We are seeking a seasoned Commercial HVAC Chiller Technician with a can-do attitude, strong problem-solving skills, and an active EPA Certification to join our fast-growing team.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Active EPA Certification.
  • 5+ years of experience in a commercial HVAC setting with Chillers.
  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • Technical training in HVAC or Refrigeration.
  • Available to work flexible hours and on-call shifts as needed.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, explaining problems and resolutions clearly.
  • Ability to closely communicate issues, concerns, and updates with account managers.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimal numbers.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Mental stamina for problem-solving and prioritizing multiple tasks.
  • Ability to help lead and teach helpers and technician I's.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and unscheduled maintenance and repair of commercial systems including air-cooled chillers, centrifugal chillers, pumps, cooling towers, air handler units, valves, and variable air volume systems.
  • Diagnose and repair machine and equipment defects, including electronic, mechanical, and electrical components related to these systems.
  • Inspect and test system components to ensure proper operation, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance, repair, installation, general servicing, and troubleshooting of mechanical HVAC systems.
  • Assist in installing, retrofitting, and commissioning commercial chiller systems and related HVAC equipment.
  • Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to assess and repair HVAC systems.
  • Service, troubleshoot, and repair commercial/industrial Chiller and Refrigeration Equipment.
  • Perform electrical work, including on electrical components, timers, and contactors.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and comply with regulatory requirements related to HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through direct, on-site customer interface.
  • Provide technical guidance and recommendations to clients regarding maintenance schedules, energy efficiency, and system improvements.
  • Prepare and present detailed service reports to customers.
  • Engage in continual learning and development through the FirstCall Academy to maintain a high skill level in the industry.
  • Provide elite customer service to ensure the company remains the preferred choice for HVAC needs.
