About The Position
ColdTech is a trusted name in commercial refrigeration and HVAC throughout the Intermountain West. We service grocery stores, hotels, restaurants, convenience stores, schools, and warehouses—keeping essential businesses running smoothly. A Commercial Chiller Technician diagnose large-tonnage systems, leads complex diagnostics, installations, and repairs of large-scale systems such as chillers, cooling towers, hydronics, boilers, and refrigeration rack systems.
Requirements
- 4–6 years of hands-on commercial and/or industrial chiller experience along with commercial boiler, hydronics, and refrigeration rack system experience.
- Advanced start-up, warranty, troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across commercial chiller systems.
- Current EPA Type II Certification required.
- Deep knowledge of electrical schematics, refrigerant handling, brazing/welding, and computerized chiller/HVAC software/controls.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Nice To Haves
- Previous VRF experience is preferred.
- NATE & factory training on major equipment brands are highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose large-tonnage systems, leads complex diagnostics, installations, and repairs of large-scale systems such as chillers, cooling towers, hydronics, boilers, and refrigeration rack systems.
- Handle cooling towers/boilers and troubleshooting heavy-duty heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and commercial refrigeration equipment.
- Overseeing junior technicians, providing on-the-job training, and ensuring workplace safety standards are met.
- Interacting directly with facility managers to explain repairs, provide quotes, and recommend system upgrades.
- Represent ColdTech with professionalism and urgency on every job.
