About The Position

First Atlantic Restoration is hiring a Commercial Carpenter to perform carpentry and reconstruction work on commercial properties throughout Hampton Roads. The goal of each project is to restore the property to its pre-loss condition. Work includes demolition and framing, installing and resetting fixtures and finishes, light plumbing and electrical tasks, drywall and painting, and completing punch lists. The carpenter also conducts material takeoffs, purchases project supplies, documents work in a mobile app, communicates with customers and team members, and follows safety protocols. The role involves fast-paced work, a variety of projects, and participation in an on-call rotation for emergencies. First Atlantic Restoration is a locally owned, Virginia Beach-based disaster cleanup, mitigation, and restoration company. It has served commercial and residential clients for more than 30 years and provides emergency services throughout its service area.

Requirements

Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and commitment to doing the job right.
Ability to lift more than 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Comfort using mobile apps to record information.

Responsibilities

Complete carpentry work on commercial reconstruction projects to restore properties to pre-loss condition.
Perform demolition and framing; hang and case doors and windows; and install cabinets.
Install LVP flooring, ceramic tile, trim, baseboard, and crown molding.
Detach and reset cabinets and appliances, including washers, dryers, microwaves, dishwashers, and ranges.
Perform light plumbing and electrical work, drywall work, and painting.
Install hardware and complete punch list work as needed to finish projects.
Conduct detailed material takeoffs and purchase lumber, hardware, lighting, and other supplies.
Uphold company standards and ensure high-quality restoration work.
Document work on every job using a mobile app, including photos and notes.
Communicate clearly with customers and team members throughout projects.
Follow safety protocols and regulations when using power tools and conducting restoration activities.
Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency work.
