About The Position

Mark Young Construction, LLC (MYC) is a leading General Contracting firm located in Frederick, Colorado, performing work along the Front Range and across the Western United States. MYC employs more than 250 staff and has expertise in municipal, education, office, retail, and large grocery complexes, providing stability and continued growth. The Commercial Carpenter works closely with Owners, Owner Management, Superintendents, Engineers, and others on his/her team, performing a variety of tasks and projects ranging in duration from a part of a day to multiple weeks. Ninety-three percent of MYC's revenue comes from current or referral clients who are pleased with their extensive experience, exemplary performance, and focus on personalized customer service. MYC is dedicated to developing strong partnerships that will yield superior construction from project inception to owner occupancy.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates with clients, owners, owner representatives before the job starts, during the job, and after the job is complete.
  • Prioritizes and meets scheduled deadlines on projects
  • Completion of daily construction reports, timecards, monthly equipment reporting, weekly safety meetings, tool inventory
  • Constructs, erects, and installs structures made of wood, metal, plywood, wallboard, and other materials using carpentry hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machines for commercial projects
  • Set trusses
  • Cut footings and foundation walls, layout and form concrete steps, HC Ramps
  • Use and understand 5-point laser, theodolite laser/building level
  • Finish carpentry: chair rail, cap, trim, cabinets
  • Layout self-performed work
  • Participate in daily work assignment planning to achieve highest productivity levels
  • Quantify material for up-coming assignments
  • Read and understand drawings to assist the foreman in developing plans for work
