About The Position
Bureau Veritas is seeking experienced Commercial Building Inspectors for an upcoming large-scale data center project in Hobart, Indiana. This is a full-time, on-site contract assignment with strong long-term potential, supporting a major commercial construction initiative. The ideal candidate will possess strong commercial code knowledge, excellent field judgment, and ICC certifications, and thrive in fast-paced, technically advanced construction environments. The project duration is anticipated to range from 18 to 36 months or longer.
Requirements
- ICC Combination Commercial Inspector certification
- Commercial building inspection experience
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, and applicable building codes
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently on active construction sites
- Valid driver’s license
Nice To Haves
- Additional ICC certifications in Mechanical, Electrical, and/or Plumbing (MEP)
- CBO certification
- Experience supporting data center, mission critical, or large industrial construction projects
- Associate degree or technical training in construction, engineering, architecture, or related field
Responsibilities
- Perform commercial code inspections on large-scale data center construction projects
- Conduct Combination Commercial inspections in accordance with ICC and applicable local codes
- Inspect structural, building, and related construction work for code compliance and quality standards
- Prepare written and electronic inspection reports and correction notices
- Interpret and explain applicable building codes and inspection findings to contractors and project teams
- Collaborate with project management, contractors, engineers, and fellow inspectors to support successful project delivery
- Recognize and resolve complex field issues using sound technical judgment
- Maintain accurate inspection documentation and records
- Support a safe, professional, team-oriented work environment
