About The Position

The Commercial Body Shop Painter is responsible for performing routine or specialized work in the repair and refinishing of vehicles and various pieces of equipment. General duties my include but are not limited to sandblasting of components/entire assets, taping and masking,

Requirements

Required High School + specialized training or 1 year college Technical school specializing in the repair/refinish of all truck and trailer series
Experience: 3 to 5 years
Valid driver's license with clean driving record
Good communication skills
Employee must exercise independent judgment and initiative in performing assigned duties Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience in commercial painting including trucks, trailers, and miscellaneous equipment.
Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment and machinery including various types of painting equipment, blasting equipment assorted hand tools, etc. • Working knowledge of tools of trade (including welding equipment, paint equipment, shop machines, and power tools)

Responsibilities

Disassembles vehicles to expose and assess damage. Documents repairs and parts needed. 15
Painting of various assets and or components as needed
Sandblasting of equipment and components; taping and other prep work as needed
Mixing of paints as needed
Responsible for all painting equipment cleaning and maintenance, guns, compressors, paint and sand blast booths
Mechanical knowledge with “hands on approach” as needed
Maintain accurate computer and written documentation and compliance logs
Clean, degrease and prime both component parts and finished products. Paint completed products with an automotive finish. Maintain a high quality paint standard throughout.
Assembles and disassembles components and parts as needed
Works with parts department for the availability of job related materials
Ensures all aspects of painting and sandblasting areas are in compliance
Provide inventory and inspection reports to management as requested Other Duties as Assigned
