About The Position

Under the direction of the Manager or Team Lead, this position partners with the Primary Relationship Officer (PRO), and is responsible for structuring deals and the evaluation of financial and other risks associated with business clients in order to make a credit decision.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree preferably from an accredited institution with major in business or related area, or equivalent business and/or credit work experience.
Level I: Minimum 2 to 3 years of commercial credit experience, preferably in Commercial credit analyst experience; or Commercial lending line experience as a Portfolio Management Officer (PMO) / Primary Relationship Officer (PRO)
Level II: Minimum 4 to 5 years of commercial credit experience, preferably in Commercial credit analyst experience; or Commercial lending line experience as a Portfolio Management Officer (PMO) / Primary Relationship Officer (PRO)
Level III: Minimum 5 to 6 years of commercial credit experience, preferably in Commercial lending experience as an Underwriter; or Commercial lending line experience as a Portfolio Management Officer (PMO) / Primary Relationship Officer (PRO)
Level IV : Minimum 7 to 9 years of commercial credit experience, preferably in Commercial lending experience as an Underwriter; or Commercial lending line experience as a Portfolio Management Officer (PMO) / Primary Relationship Officer (PRO)
Requires strong commercial credit skills and experience.
Must have a thorough understanding of all aspects of financial statement analysis, including applicability to cash flow lending.
Demonstrated proficiency and expertise with personal computers in a networked environment and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) or similar software.
Knowledge of or ability to use Bank software and systems.
Requires excellent worksheet skills and good working knowledge of database programs.
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
Must have the ability to express complex ideas in concise and simple terms.
Able to demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative skills, with excellent attention to detail.
Must be able to manage multiple assignments with changing deadlines in a high pressure environment.
Able to build strong working relationships with a collaborative approach, but must also be a self-starter with the ability to work independently.
Possesses good interpersonal skills and client servicing skills to meet the Bank’s standards.
Must always follow up and follow through.
Able to work flexible hours including holidays, weekends and evenings as needed or assigned.
Must be able to provide own transportation or to operate a vehicle with a valid driver’s license and commute in a timely manner as required.
Able to travel by air as necessary.

Responsibilities

Prepares Credit Memorandum packages and written summaries, including forward looking acceptability of risks for credit write-ups, communicates with client and PRO to obtain information.
Ensures accuracy of document content.
Structures, determines credit covenants, and/or fine-tunes credit facilities proposed by PRO, and ensures conformity to Bank policy.
Monitors client financial condition through review of periodic financial statements, covenant compliance, and investigation of conditions in the industry, marketplace and competition.
Analyzes cash flow projections and formulates alternative risk scenarios; performs other due diligence as necessary.
Communicates with client and PRO to complete analysis.
Provides input to the monitoring and validation of the assigned client risk rating.
Performs deal screens with Manager / Team Lead and PRO.
Reviews daily overdraft reports and approves or recommends appropriate disposition for the overdraft; communicates with PROs as necessary.
May exercise delegated overdraft and daylight overdraft authority.
Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned.
