The Business Banking Underwriter IV is responsible for underwriting Business Banking loans to determine credit worthiness and compliance with Bank lending policy. This role supports Business Banking production by maintaining an individual pipeline of work. The underwriter reviews all financial and credit application information to make sound credit decisions. Loans would typically include those with the most complex credit structures and customer exposure up to $10MM. They utilize single approval authority up to $4MM and appropriately assess the risk profile of the borrower. Additionally, this role assists with training and mentoring new hires, provides support for the UWI, UW II & UW III job families as needed, and performs other tasks to support the line of business and job family. The Underwriter IV acts as primary backup for their manager in team huddles & meetings and represents their direct manager outside of the function group as needed. They collaborate with both credit and segment risk to meet or exceed department goals. The Business Loan Center has many types of Underwriter IVs, and specific skills may be needed based on the job posting title (e.g., Portfolio Manager, SBA, Practice Finance, Agriculture, Investment Real Estate, Extended Market).
