About The Position

Wells Fargo Commercial Banking provides market-leading solutions, industry expertise, and insights to help enable client growth and success, enhancing the communities served. The summer internship is a structured 10-week program designed to provide undergraduate students with a basic understanding of Commercial Banking and potential career paths through hands-on experience. Interns will work with an experienced team within one of Wells Fargo’s Commercial Banking businesses, gaining exposure to operations, business strategies, and culture. The program focuses on intern development to prepare them for their next career step after completion. Interns will gain insight into Wells Fargo’s corporate and credit culture, with opportunities for professional development, skill acquisition, community involvement, networking, and analytical training in line of business-specific concepts. The program includes an Induction Week for onboarding and training with interns across Wells Fargo, offering networking opportunities. Interns will have meaningful on-the-job experiences, working as part of a high-performing team, building analytical skills, and gaining a basic understanding of key processes. They will receive professional support from high-performing employees who act as resources and coaches. A virtual speaker series features Wells Fargo leaders providing insights and discussing trends in the financial services industry. Organized networking activities promote community involvement and networking with peers and employees across Wells Fargo.

  • 6+ months of work experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

Nice To Haves

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree (All majors welcome), with an expected graduation date between December 2027 – June 2028
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills
  • Involvement in extracurricular enrichment activities through one or more of the following: volunteerism, student organization involvement, study abroad program(s), leadership position(s), non-profit involvement
  • Proven ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a collaborative, change driven atmosphere
  • Energetic self-starter who proactively takes initiative, acts with urgency, remains curious, and has a genuine interest in learning and growth
  • Demonstrated knowledge, interest and/or experience in finance, accounting, and sales
  • Familiarity with AI powered productivity tools (such as chat-based assistants and built in features like Microsoft Copilot) to support everyday tasks including research, organizing information, and creating presentations with a strong interest in learning and using these tools responsibly.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in formal internship program activities, workshops, and various initiatives.
  • Complete assignments to become familiar with policies and procedures related to low-to-medium complex tasks and deliverables.
  • Conduct research and financial analysis to assess client needs and identify optimal Wells Fargo products and services.
  • Partner with relationship managers, product specialists, and credit underwriters to support real-time business efforts that drive client outcomes.
  • Receive direction from a manager and exercise independent judgment while developing knowledge of compliance and risk management requirements.
  • Prioritize work, apply attention to detail, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.
