About The Position

This role combines business development, lending support, portfolio management, and community outreach to support a mission of strengthening businesses, individuals, and communities. In this position, you will proactively develop and manage small business and consumer banking relationships, with a focus on loan production, deposit growth, treasury management services, and overall relationship expansion. You will call on prospects, entrepreneurs, centers of influence (COIs), referral partners, and existing clients to identify opportunities and deliver comprehensive banking solutions designed to earn and deepen the client's entire banking relationship. Working closely with the Market President and commercial banking teams, you will support client onboarding, gather financial information, assist with loan pre-screening and pipeline development, and contribute to strategic market growth initiatives. In addition to business development responsibilities, you will lead and support community development efforts throughout the market. This includes facilitating financial literacy workshops, business education programs, entrepreneurship initiatives, and programming at the South Dallas Banking & Financial Literacy Center. You will cultivate and maintain partnerships with community organizations, educational institutions, chambers of commerce, nonprofit organizations, and Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) while supporting Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) outreach, reporting, and initiatives focused on low-to-moderate-income communities. As a visible representative of the Bank, you will actively participate in community events and help advance the Bank's commitment to economic empowerment and financial education. The role also provides executive and relationship management support to the Market President through coordination of business development activities, reporting, scheduling, documentation, event planning, and partnership management. Success in this position requires strong relationship-building skills, sound business judgment, the ability to identify and assess growth opportunities, and a passion for serving both clients and the community. All associates are expected to maintain current knowledge of and comply with applicable banking regulations, policies, and procedures, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in banking, business development, commercial lending, small business banking, community development, or a related financial services environment.
  • Demonstrated experience developing client relationships, generating business opportunities, and supporting lending or portfolio management activities.
  • Working knowledge of banking operations, regulatory requirements, and risk management practices.
  • Ability to analyze financial information and understand fundamental credit concepts.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must meet minimum credit standards and successfully pass a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of successful commercial or small business lending experience.
  • Experience working with low-to-moderate income communities and Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) initiatives.
  • Completion of formal credit training, banking schools, or leadership development programs.
  • Established network within the South Dallas market and surrounding business community.
