About The Position

This role serves as a key driver of small business growth, community engagement, and relationship development within the market and surrounding assessment areas. It combines business development, lending support, portfolio management, and community outreach to strengthen businesses, individuals, and communities. The position involves proactively developing and managing small business and consumer banking relationships, focusing on loan production, deposit growth, treasury management services, and overall relationship expansion. It requires calling on prospects, entrepreneurs, centers of influence, referral partners, and existing clients to identify opportunities and deliver comprehensive banking solutions. Collaboration with the Market President and commercial banking teams is essential for client onboarding, financial information gathering, loan pre-screening, pipeline development, and strategic market growth initiatives. Additionally, the role leads and supports community development efforts, including facilitating financial literacy and business education workshops, entrepreneurship initiatives, and programming at the South Dallas Banking & Financial Literacy Center. It also involves cultivating partnerships with community organizations, educational institutions, chambers of commerce, nonprofits, and CDFIs, while supporting CRA outreach and initiatives for low-to-moderate-income communities. The role represents the Bank in community events, advancing economic empowerment and financial education. It also provides executive and relationship management support to the Market President. Success requires strong relationship-building skills, sound business judgment, the ability to identify growth opportunities, and a passion for serving clients and the community. All associates must maintain knowledge of and comply with applicable banking regulations, policies, and procedures, including BSA, AML, OFAC, and CRA.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in banking, business development, commercial lending, small business banking, community development, or a related financial services environment.
  • Demonstrated experience developing client relationships, generating business opportunities, and supporting lending or portfolio management activities.
  • Working knowledge of banking operations, regulatory requirements, and risk management practices.
  • Ability to analyze financial information and understand fundamental credit concepts.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must meet minimum credit standards and successfully pass a criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively develop and manage small business and consumer banking relationships.
  • Focus on loan production, deposit growth, treasury management services, and overall relationship expansion.
  • Call on prospects, entrepreneurs, centers of influence (COIs), referral partners, and existing clients to identify opportunities and deliver comprehensive banking solutions.
  • Support client onboarding, gather financial information, assist with loan pre-screening and pipeline development, and contribute to strategic market growth initiatives in collaboration with the Market President and commercial banking teams.
  • Lead and support community development efforts, including facilitating financial literacy workshops, business education programs, and entrepreneurship initiatives.
  • Program management at the South Dallas Banking & Financial Literacy Center.
  • Cultivate and maintain partnerships with community organizations, educational institutions, chambers of commerce, nonprofit organizations, and Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs).
  • Support Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) outreach, reporting, and initiatives focused on low-to-moderate-income communities.
  • Actively participate in community events and represent the Bank to advance economic empowerment and financial education.
  • Provide executive and relationship management support to the Market President through coordination of business development activities, reporting, scheduling, documentation, event planning, and partnership management.
  • Maintain current knowledge of and comply with applicable banking regulations, policies, and procedures, including BSA, AML, OFAC, and CRA requirements.
