About The Position

This role is part of the Commercial Banking Associate Program, designed to help businesses reach their full potential. Through a structured training program, associates will learn to deliver flexible business solutions and provide dedicated expertise to clients. The Commercial Banking team supports account teams with client acquisition, relationship management, and transactional support for client-specific financing solutions. Associates will learn products, processes, and functions to eventually progress to a Relationship Manager role and manage their own client portfolio. Responsibilities include assisting Commercial Banking Managers with existing client relationships and new financing transactions by providing financial and industry analysis as part of the deal team. Associates will participate in all activities through the sales cycle to prepare for the Relationship Manager role, including assisting with business development initiatives focused on meeting growth targets by identifying business opportunities and financing solutions. The program includes Orientation Activities, hands-on experience, and training sessions on credit structuring, risk assessment, and cash management. Associates will receive ongoing coaching and mentoring, supported by a Program Manager. Soft skills development in business development, negotiation, and networking is also a focus.

Requirements

  • Must be in your final year of post-secondary education pursuing a degree/diploma in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related fields with an expected graduation date before May 31st, 2026.
  • Resume (no more than 2 pages) and cover letter (no more than 1 page) and academic transcript uploaded as 1 document to the “Resume/CV section” of the application.
  • Demonstrate experience in the field.
  • Understand financial statements and accounting principles includes valuation techniques and cash flow analysis.
  • Ability to research and analyze business growth opportunities through comprehensive industry, client and prospect research.
  • Ability to organize analysis to support credit submissions including structuring and documentation.
  • Enjoy building relationships by making an impact on your community and showing clients they’re appreciated by engaging in marketing and outreach activities.
  • Ability to develop new relationships by getting referrals from existing relationships and centers of influence.
