About The Position

We are seeking an Associate to join the Healthcare Lending team. This role supports portfolio management of the existing Healthcare Lending business, evaluation of new lending opportunities, market and industry research, and maintenance of strong client relationships. The successful candidate will have a post-secondary degree in finance, business or a related field, strong analytical and organizational skills, and excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Prior experience in healthcare lending or commercial lending is considered an asset. At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Requirements

4+ years of demonstrated experience in Commercial Banking
Developed knowledge of regulatory expectations and industry best practices in risk management
Strong team player and able to work with productively with colleagues towards common goals
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Results oriented with a high degree of attention to detail
Formal Credit Training
Post-secondary degree in finance, business or a related field

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in healthcare lending or commercial lending

Responsibilities

Analyze and opine on the financial statements of borrowers and prospects, evaluating their overall condition and viability using CIBC’s financial models.
Engage with clients and prospects to collect routine information and address ongoing portfolio management requirements.
Prepare loan presentations and credit approval documentation for all required credit actions
Complete risk analyses of borrowers and prospects using the CIBC risk rating model
Manage CIBC’s client relationship database for existing transactions and future prospects
Develop skills to appropriately structure deals including setting covenants and reporting requirements
Conduct market research comparing clients to local market peers
