About The Position

The Commercial Banker III is responsible for identifying, soliciting, developing, managing, servicing, retaining, and growing long-term profitable commercial relationships for clients with $5MM to $100MM in annual sales. This role involves offering a full range of loan, deposit, and fee-based services to existing and prospective commercial clients. The banker will leverage CCB Industry & Advisory teams for an optimal client experience and refer business and personal financial needs of assigned clients through the appropriate channel according to Integrated Relationship Management (IRM). Levels (I – III) are differentiated based on years of commercial banking experience, portfolio size, and overall potential in the role per leadership discretion. The position leverages the Truist Sales Process, Financial Insights, and the Industry & Advisory team to deliver a differentiated client experience in all client, prospect, and center of influence (COI) interactions. The role involves managing, servicing, and growing an assigned book of commercial banking clients, executing on prospecting activities to grow new commercial banking households, and understanding and contributing to the credit decisioning process. This includes analysis and interpretation of financial statements, credit structuring, underwriting requirements, policy knowledge, and risk identification and mitigation, all in accordance with the Truist credit risk appetite. The focus is on driving continual improvement in portfolio revenue growth and new production revenue. Proactive client contact is essential to fully develop commercial banking relationships by executing on Integrated Relationship Management (IRM) principles, including identifying all business and personal financial needs and bringing in appropriate partners to deliver Truist solutions. The banker will monitor, maintain, and update sales activity, pipeline, and other pertinent information using the Bank’s client relationship management (CRM) system and execute on all risk, operational, policy, and quality expectations related to the assigned client portfolio.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent education and related training
  • More than eight (8) years of experience with proven results in establishing new business relationships and retaining/growing existing business relationships
  • Strong command of credit and finance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products
