The Opportunity We are looking for an Intermediate Auto Underwriter to join our Commercial Lines team in the London Branch. Requirements

  • 3+ years of Commercial Auto underwriting experience
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-driven
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a hybrid team
  • Proficient with common business software; RTM experience is an asset
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and perform well under pressure

Nice To Haves

  • CIP designation completed or currently in progress.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, analyze, and price risk for both new and renewal Commercial Auto business.
  • Collaborate with and support junior underwriters by sharing technical knowledge and helping interpret underwriting guidelines.
  • Review reports to determine accurate exposure and apply appropriate loss rating.
  • Keep current on market trends, pricing strategies, and policy wordings to stay competitive.
  • Negotiate renewal terms to drive strong retention results.
  • Apply loss control and risk management principles within the underwriting process.
  • Respond to broker inquiries promptly and efficiently, ensuring ease of doing business.
  • Partner with brokers to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong broker relationships while managing an assigned portfolio.
  • Deliver consistently exceptional customer service..
  • Develop and maintain excellent broker relationships and management of assigned broker portfolio.
  • Provide above average customer service.
