About The Position

Buchalter is seeking a Litigation Associate with 3 - 5 years of experience in complex commercial and business litigation at a large, preferably national law firm. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in sophisticated litigation matters, including contract disputes, business torts, and fraud cases. Specific experience with consumer class action defense and/or healthcare litigation is preferred, but not required. Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in complex commercial and business litigation at a large, preferably national law firm
  • Substantial experience in sophisticated litigation matters, including contract disputes, business torts, and fraud cases
  • Strong background in litigation practice
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills
  • Experience handling e-discovery issues and document productions
  • Overall track record of high-quality work
  • Hardworking, self-motivated, detail-oriented
  • Demonstrates exceptional analytical abilities
  • Admitted to the State Bar of California

Nice To Haves

  • Specific experience with consumer class action defense
  • Specific experience with healthcare litigation
  • Degree from a top fifty law school

Responsibilities

  • Drafting pleadings and motions
  • Conducting legal research
  • Assisting with discovery (including e-discovery)
  • Supporting trial preparation under the guidance of senior attorneys
