NovaSource is hiring a Commercial Analyst who supports the commercial organization through cost modeling, pricing analysis, CRM and data management, commercial reporting, and market insights. The cost model is the core responsibility of the role, with opportunities to expand into broader pricing support and commercial decision-making over time. This is a hands-on, developmental role for an analytical and highly organized individual who is comfortable working with both detailed data and business questions. The analyst will also help strengthen the team’s operating foundation by becoming a key user of Zoho CRM and by organizing and maintaining shared commercial content and resources.

Requirements

  • Comfortable balancing analytical assignments with hands-on data maintenance and administrative ownership.

  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment with appropriate guidance.
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience; strong internship or project experience may qualify
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and comfort working with detailed datasets
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally
  • Exposure to financial modeling, pricing, sales operations, or business analytics
  • Experience with a CRM system; Zoho experience is helpful but not required
  • Experience with reporting or visualization tools such as Power BI
  • Interest in renewable energy or technical service businesses
  • Experience organizing shared content, templates, or process documentation

Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day execution of project cost models, including gathering inputs, validating assumptions, and clearly communicating outputs.
  • Maintain cost assumptions, historical benchmarks, and supporting documentation in partnership with operational, technical, and finance stakeholders.
  • Support pricing decisions beyond the cost model through historical comparisons, pricing benchmarks, margin analysis, and evaluation of deal-specific considerations.
  • Identify pricing trends, inconsistencies, and potential commercial risks, and summarize findings for commercial leadership.
  • Help improve pricing tools, processes, and documentation as business needs evolve.
  • Develop into the primary day-to-day subject matter expert for Zoho CRM and support adoption across the commercial team.
  • Maintain opportunity, account, contact, and pipeline data, including necessary manual data entry, cleanup, and reconciliation.
  • Monitor data completeness, accuracy, and consistency, and help establish practical governance standards and required-field expectations.
  • Create and maintain standard CRM views, reports, dashboards, and process documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify workflows, improve data quality, and automate repetitive tasks where practical.
  • Prepare recurring pipeline, performance, and management reporting for the commercial organization.
  • Support sales commission calculations, data validation, and reporting.
  • Conduct win/loss, pricing, competitor, market, conversion, and sales-cycle analyses.
  • Combine information from CRM, pricing tools, and other sources to identify patterns and develop clear business insights.
  • Support ad hoc analyses and presentations for commercial leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Design and maintain a clear shared-folder structure for commercial and sales operations content.
  • Organize and manage pricing tools, proposals, templates, market research, customer materials, and historical analyses.
  • Establish naming conventions, version-control practices, archiving standards, and basic documentation for where information should be stored.
  • Maintain current standard templates and reference materials and periodically review folders for outdated or duplicate content.
