This program analyzes credit information to support lending decisions and processes for new and existing Commercial banking loans and credit solutions in an assigned portfolio of clients. The role involves making credit decisions and recommendations in compliance with bank policies and procedures while maintaining an exceptional client service environment. It includes performing financial analysis and calculations, assessing client creditworthiness, preparing detailed credit summaries, and analyzing financial performance and risk profiles of clients within the portfolio. The position supports credit-granting decisions by making recommendations to management, supports the negotiation of loan terms and conditions, and the structuring of loans that align with client requirements and ensure compliance with the bank's risk appetite and policies. It also involves portfolio monitoring and compliance, analyzing metrics, and assessing industry trends to identify risks and opportunities. The role develops proposals to capture new business and expand client relationships, monitors loan performance, accuracy and integrity of loan documentation, and addresses credit-related issues. Building and maintaining client relationships is key to ensuring long-term financial performance in collaboration with Relationship Managers and business partners. The role structures and supports new, renewal, and extension loans aligned with client needs and bank & risk policies. It conducts financial analysis and risk assessments of clients’ credit information for an assigned portfolio to provide insights and make informed decisions. The role monitors portfolio performance for assigned Commercial Banking clients on an ongoing basis, taking corrective action when required. It minimizes BMO’s risk exposure by adhering to credit policies, regulatory standards, and operational guidelines. The role serves as a point of contact for service requests, ensuring expectations are consistently met or exceeded, and escalates issues when needed. It supports and implements initiatives to enhance service quality, acquire new business, and expand client relationships. The role identifies revenue and cross-selling opportunities to enhance portfolio growth and identifies share of wallet opportunities. It leverages analysis tools to nurture and grow a portfolio that exceeds ROE thresholds and evaluates client returns on a proactive basis. The role manages timely and accurate data entry into BMO's systems and leverages the data to support decision-making. The focus may be on a specific business/group. The role requires creative thinking and proposing new solutions, exercising judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules, and working mostly independently. Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed. The role involves taking measured risks while protecting the bank by applying the Risk Management Framework in the execution of duties, in line with the Risk Culture and within the approved Risk Appetite, making sound and risk-informed decisions that align to business strategy, protect assets, and adhere to applicable policy documents, laws, and regulations.
