About The Position

The Commercial Alarm System Inspector performs scheduled inspections, surveys, installations, and related project work for alarm systems in commercial facilities. The role involves travel to locations within the assigned route and/or remaining onsite for eight hours a day, 365 days a year. The inspector tests fire and burglar alarm systems and life-safety equipment, completes installations and project work, schedules assigned work, and submits accurate paperwork in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Familiarity with smartphones and technological aptitude.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Experience with mapping and routing applications such as MapPoint or Google Maps.
• Mechanical, technological, or electrical aptitude.
• Ability to interpret written instructions and documents.
• Ability to learn through telephone training.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to maintain a reliable vehicle and appropriate liability vehicle insurance for the work area, as deemed appropriate by Cennox's liability insurance policy, currently in place and as amended.
• Ability to lift and move 50 or more pounds.
• Ability to sit and drive a vehicle.
• Ability to climb, bend, stoop, and reach freely.
• Vision correctable to 20/20.

Nice To Haves

• One year of related alarm or electronic security experience is preferred but not required.
• Current certification or ability to obtain licensing, if required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Test and inspect fire alarm systems, burglar alarm systems, and life-safety equipment.
• Perform equipment installations as necessary.
• Complete project work related to fire alarm and burglar alarm systems.
• Schedule assigned work.
• Complete jobs and paperwork correctly and in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
