About The Position
The Jack Laurie Group, a large commercial construction subcontractor in Indiana since 1950, is seeking experienced Commercial Acoustical Ceiling Tile (ACT) Subcontractors for commercial projects throughout Fort Wayne and the surrounding areas. Their Interiors Division specializes in steel framing, drywall, finishing, acoustical ceilings, painting, and trim carpentry. This is an opportunity for experienced ACT subcontractors to partner with a growing company.
Requirements
- Commercial ACT installation experience required
- Strong understanding of acoustical ceiling grid systems
- Ability to accurately read plans and perform layouts
- Must provide all necessary hand tools and equipment required to perform the work
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to communicate effectively with Superintendents and Project Managers
- Must be safety-minded and maintain a drug-free work environment
- Must be properly insured and able to meet subcontractor requirements
Nice To Haves
- This opportunity is for experienced ACT subcontractors only. We are not looking for handymen or individuals looking to learn the trade.
Responsibilities
- Layout and install ceiling wire, wall angle, grid systems, and ceiling tile
- Read and work from drawings, specifications, and reflected ceiling plans (RCPs)
- Measure, cut, level, and install 2x2 and 2x4 ceiling systems
- Cut and fit tile around obstacles and room perimeters
- Work independently with minimal supervision when required
- Maintain a professional appearance and quality workmanship on all projects
