The Commercial Account Manager serves as the primary day-to-day contact for client requests within their assigned book of business, focusing on Mid-Market or Emerging accounts. This role operates under the direction of the Account Executive, preparing or delegating the preparation of renewal materials such as premium and loss summaries, exposures, coverage comparisons, and premium and rate information. The position involves partnering with the Account Executive on client interactions, negotiations, technical analysis, and program design, as well as supporting new client onboarding. A key aspect of the role is developing the ability to anticipate problems through client or underwriter communications and industry changes. The Commercial Account Manager will also create marketing submissions using the client workbook, manage negotiations with carriers, receive and review quotes for accuracy and desired coverages, terms, and pricing, and generate proposals. Additionally, this role involves receiving policies, sending instructions to the applicable Center of Excellence (COE), keeping the COE informed of changes during negotiations, and potentially processing policies. Other duties include performing premium allocations, preparing surplus lines templates, preparing and approving Certificate of Insurance templates, issuing on-demand certificates, conducting basic contract reviews, processing policy endorsements, resolving coverage and premium discrepancies, and handling audits on expired or non-renewed policies.
