About The Position

The Commercial Account Executive (Real Estate) plays a crucial role in supporting and demonstrating IMA’s core values, with a strong emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion. This position holds overall responsibility for managing client renewals, including policy reviews, strategic planning, loss analysis, program design, and ensuring data accuracy. The role also involves supporting new business acquisition and the setup of new accounts. The Account Executive must maintain an in-depth understanding of clients' businesses, strategies, and needs throughout the year. Key activities include initiating the renewal process, conducting coverage analyses, preparing for and facilitating meetings with stakeholders and clients, developing marketing strategies, reviewing submissions, and negotiating with underwriters to create compelling proposals. Continuous professional growth is expected through ongoing education and staying abreast of industry trends, products, and services. The role also involves developing and maintaining carrier relationships and managing a book of business with significant revenue ($900k - $2 Million). The Account Executive will lead at least three large or complex client accounts and dedicate 5-10% of their time to supporting producers in winning new business.

Requirements

  • Experience in insurance or related industry based on the assigned book of business.
  • Ability to think strategically based on client’s priorities and marketplace cycle.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Experience leading and developing people.
  • Ability to delegate and hold team & partners accountable.
  • Experience working within Applied Epic preferred.
  • Experience with MS Office products required (specifically PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  • Travel may be required when necessary.
  • Maintains increased technical knowledge both insurance industry and book of client’s industry.

Responsibilities

  • Supports and demonstrates IMA’s core values, including diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Maintains overall responsibility for the entire renewal process with the Producer (policy review, setting the game plan, loss analysis, program design, data completeness within AMS, coverage & premium discrepancy issues, etc.) for all existing accounts.
  • Supports in winning new business and set up of new accounts.
  • Maintains intimate knowledge of clients' business operations, strategies, and needs throughout the year.
  • Kicks-off the client renewal process by creating the Game Plan and completing a coverage analysis (if applicable) and conducting thorough reviews of the policies and all relevant documents.
  • Prepares for and facilitates meetings with key IMA stakeholders and clients.
  • Crafts the marketing strategies, reviews submissions, and engages in negotiations with underwriters to determine the relevant content to include in proposals.
  • Pursues mastery of the craft through on-going education and awareness of industry trends, products, and services.
  • Develops & maintains carrier relationships.
  • Manages a book of business with $900k - 2 Million in revenue.
  • Plays a lead role on three or more large/complex client accounts.
  • Spends 5-10% of time supporting producers in winning new business.
