About The Position

The Commercial Account Executive is responsible for managing the client insurance program, utilizing the agency management system. This role typically handles larger and more complex accounts than an Associate Account Executive. Duties include acting as a point of contact with producers and the marketplace, maintaining positive client relationships, analyzing situations, making decisions, and following through. The role involves managing upcoming deadlines and events, accounts receivables, and direct billing with respect to cancellations. The Commercial Account Executive is also responsible for ensuring tasks such as creating Acord applications, COPE spreadsheets, loss summaries, renewal proposals, and issuing binders are accomplished, often through delegation to Account Managers or external resources. They perform quality checks on insurance policies and may provide direction to other team members in the absence of senior staff. The role requires functioning as a team member of the Client Services team to ensure superior service, coordinating and monitoring outsourcing teams, and supporting the training and development of Account Managers. Technical expertise is crucial, including analyzing insurance quotes, comprehending insurance contract requirements, communicating with carriers and clients, conducting client-facing meetings, and becoming proficient with premium analysis software and carrier online rating programs. Maintaining knowledge of policy forms and endorsements, designing insurance programs, and utilizing the agency management system for monitoring activities are also key responsibilities. Identifying and addressing coverage gaps and becoming a subject matter expert in an area of interest are expected.

Requirements

  • Licensed: Texas P&C Agent preferred
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of midmarket Commercial Account Manager experience preferred
  • Completion of CIC and CRM preferred
  • Demonstrate ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Willingness to work to meet client needs beyond scheduled hours.
  • Proficient at Word, Excel, and current internet technologies.
  • Demonstrate proactive work style - Does not have to be asked or reminded of tasks.
  • Ability to learn, analyze and comprehend commercial lines of insurance.
  • Demonstrate ability to service clients effectively through problem solving, appropriate confidentiality, diplomacy, sensitivity and tactfulness.
  • Demonstrate track record of interacting with, meeting with and partnering with assigned clients to achieve mutually desired outcomes via routine client contact by phone, e-mail and periodic meetings and planning sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Client Insurance Program, utilizing agency management system.
  • Act as a point of contact with the Producer and initiate correspondence with the marketplace.
  • Act as a contact with vendors to ensure proper processing of requests necessary to effectively maintain the client’s insurance program.
  • Maintain positive client relationship and have the ability to analyze situations, make reasonable decisions and follow-through.
  • Manage upcoming deadlines and events, informing and updating the Producer, as needed.
  • Manage Accounts Receivables.
  • Manage Direct Billing with respect to Cancellations.
  • Ensure Acord applications, Supplementals, COPE spreadsheets, Loss Summaries, and proposals for renewal terms are created.
  • Ensure Acord Insurance Binders for renewal terms are issued.
  • Initiate Premium Finance Requests.
  • Ensure Schedules of Insurance and policies are prepared for delivery to client.
  • Process Policy Audits and Monthly Reports.
  • Identify and resolve Accounting discrepancies.
  • Create requests for changes to client’s coverages.
  • Process mail and phone requests on daily basis.
  • Perform Quality check and control on insurance policies in their entirety.
  • Provide direction and guidance to other members when appropriate in the absence of more senior team members.
  • Function as team member of the Client Services team to ensure superior service to all MMA Clients.
  • Delegate tasks to Account Managers and outsourcing teams, as appropriate.
  • Ensure tasks from both Account Manager and outsourcing team are completed as directed.
  • Ensure Account Manager is performing all tasks as outlined in their job description.
  • Coordinate and monitor usage and quality of outsourcing teams.
  • Support the training and growth of the Account Manager.
  • Analyze insurance quotes and make recommendations.
  • Comprehend and interpret Insurance Contract requirements for Certificates.
  • Communicate with insurance carriers and clients as needed.
  • Conduct client facing meetings as required, either in-house or offsite.
  • Become proficient using premium analysis software.
  • Utilize carrier online rating programs as necessary.
  • Maintain knowledge of policy forms and endorsements with ability to explain detailed coverage provisions to the client and Account Manager.
  • Design insurance program for client based on defined needs.
  • Utilize agency management system to monitor pre-defined activities (policies past expiration, aged A/R, SIC codes, etc.).
  • Identify and address any coverage gaps with producer, carrier and client.
  • Become subject matter expert and resource in area of interest or technical capability.
