About The Position

This requisition is for an ON-Call Position. The Combo Porter assists the bartender in maintaining the cleanliness, stocking, and replenishing of the bar. This role involves preparing and setting up the bar for opening, preparing drink garnishes, washing glasses and utensils, and ensuring proper stock levels of bar items. The Combo Porter provides supportive needs to ensure the proper and professional operation of the bar.

Requirements

High School Diploma or General Education Diploma required.
Prior bar experience preferred.
Certification of tuberculosis clearance required.
CPR and Standard First Aid Certification preferred.
Ability to obtain Hawaii Liquor Commission (yellow) Card.
Ability to successfully complete HAZCOM/MSDS training.

Responsibilities

Retrieves orders from the storeroom and visually checks stock received against written requisitions with storeroom personnel for accuracy.
Re-checks items with the bartender upon delivery to the bar for completeness.
Fills requests for liquor issue.
Cuts, slices, and peels perishable garnishes and fruits; mixes and pours juices in sufficient amounts according to projected business.
Stores back-up supplies needing refrigeration in prescribed containers for later use.
Maintains cleanliness of bar area, beer lockers, refrigeration, and storage areas to comply with health code standards.
Washes, racks, and stores glasses.
Prepares, mixes, and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in accordance with established hotel recipes and procedures.
Checks and assists the bartender in maintaining adequate amounts of supplies such as stir sticks, napkins, and matches for the immediate bar and extended service area.
Transports taps, replaces, and performs routine maintenance on heavy beer kegs and soda tanks.
Scoops ice from ice bins, transports to service areas, and replenishes ice containers.
Boxes and saves empty liquor bottles for later returns and requisitions.
Receives cash from guests, makes change, verifies charges, records charges, and ensures vouchers are properly executed to maintain a balanced cash bank.
Performs general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by the supervisor to adhere to health standards.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested, such as special guest requests.
Adheres to all State, Federal, and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
Reports all suspicious persons or activities and hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Security Department.
Provides instruction and/or guidance for guest and employee safety in fire or other emergency situations.
Performs a variety of other duties as assigned.
