About The Position

ProSidian is seeking a Combo Certified Safety Professional (CSP)/Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) for a Labor Hour Subcontract or Contract W-2 position located at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, South Carolina. This role supports a liquid waste contractor at the Savannah River Site and involves providing services and support as a CSP/CIH at the Saltstone Facility. The position requires on-site presence as part of the engagement team for job site management. The work is specifically related to the installation of interior protective coverings and height marking for Saltstone Disposal Units (SDUs) 10, 11, and 12. These units are large engineered tanks used for the disposal of decontaminated salt solution. The project involves ensuring structure leak tightness and chemical protection through the installation of a Leak Tight Liner System (LTLS) and Chemical Resistant Coating System (CRCS). The Saltstone Facility immobilizes low-level radioactive salt solution waste by mixing it with dry materials to create Saltstone, which is then poured into SDUs for permanent disposal.

Requirements

Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification under the Board of Certified Safety Professionals.
Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification under the American Board of Industrial Hygiene.
At least 10 years of construction field safety management experience.
Bachelor's Degree in Safety and Health.
Thorough understanding of 29 CFR 1910/1926 and 10 CFR 851.
U.S. citizen.
Valid driver's license.
Personal vehicles operated by the candidate must have valid registration.
Personal vehicles operated by the candidate must be insured with proof of insurance within the vehicle.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word).
Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, data analytic tools, and Visio.
Ability to quickly learn other tools as necessary.

Experience supporting US Fusion And Specialty Construction | US Rubber And Specialty Applications.
Experience at The Saltstone Facility at the Savannah River Site (SRS).
Experience with SDU10-12 Interior Protective Covering(s) and Height Marking project scope.

Responsibilities

Provide support as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) for job site management.
Provide support as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) for job site management.
Manage the comprehensive Safety Management System and Worker Protection Plan.
Interface with site safety personnel and the Site Technical Representative (STR) to resolve safety issues.
Ensure safety requirements and goals are clearly communicated to workers.
Conduct and document daily safety inspections and submit them to the STR.
Perform safety observations of working employees, document them, and submit the results.
Attend all injury, illness, or incident fact-finding meetings.
Perform exposure assessments.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Conduct or oversee industrial hygiene surveys.
Collect and transmit samples for analysis.
Evaluate and control health hazards.
Maintain technical competency in using industrial hygiene equipment.
Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) during surveys and provide corrective feedback.
Notify supervisors and personnel of monitoring results.
Recommend appropriate controls, work practices, and personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent exposure to hazards.
Maintain survey records, monitoring results, and equipment calibration logs.
Provide or coordinate hazard-specific training for personnel.
Review plans for new operations and significant changes involving hazardous materials or carcinogens.
Administer and oversee the Worker Protection Plan (WPP).
Enforce site safety rules to achieve "Zero Accidents."
Collaborate with US Fusion And Specialty Construction | US Rubber and Specialty Applications at the Saltstone Facility.
Anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and control environmental factors and workplace conditions that may lead to sickness, impaired health, well-being, or significant employee discomfort.
